Professional administration skills play a big role in ensuring that projects run more effectively. Our two-day course is structured as follows: Day one introduces candidates to the basics of project management, while day two will focus on the essentials necessary for project administrators to successfully support the projects they work on.

The Project Administration Course is aimed at project support staff, project assistants, and project office staff. The course is designed to give participants a practical insight into the background of Project Management, and will provide a solid understanding of project documentation that needs to be completed and filed in support of a project. It is recommended that once the delegates have completed this course, they follow-up with the Project Management Fundamentals Course. If desired, this course can be run in conjunction with the first two days of the Project Management Fundamentals Course, so that students learn together.

  • Efficiently complete the necessary and requested documentation required during the project life cycle;
  • Perform according to acceptable project quality standards;
  • Adherence to PMBOK® (Project Management Body of Knowledge) processes and standards throughout the project life cycle;
  • Set up the environment for the Project Office and its related administration procedures;
  • Ensure that all aspects of project administration procedures, documentation, communication, and distribution of project information is done in an organised manner;

This is a non-industry-specific course designed to give participants a realistic and practical insight into how to manage projects.

The combination of basic concepts and essentials of project management are formed into logical stepping-stones through the project life cycle, and will equip candidates with sufficient tools to support and administer their projects successfully. In addition, participants will be provided with a set of useful templates and sample documents that they can put to use right away in their workplace. As a bonus, participants will have an introduction to Microsoft Project.

Practical examples and exercises are provided to facilitate participation in workgroups. Participants will learn simple presentation skills.

Course Content

This is structured around PMI®'s “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (“PMBOK®”)” and therefore includes proven standard practices that are generally accepted and internationally recognised.

All training material can be delivered as is in our courses, or tailored case studies and exercises can be developed to reflect project management practices within your company. The course material is designed for use during class and afterwards as a reference.

A test will be the final exercise for each course and each student will be issued with a certificate provided that they complete the programme. Formal progress reports can be provided to employers, and if desired, we can provide career guidance advice for those delegates who are serious about following a Project Management career.

Post-course support will be offered at no extra cost.

In addition to customisation, Know-It-All will work with your organisation to develop the appropriate training material.
